On My Goodbye Bed

When I am old and ready to die

I am not going to reflect on the life that went by

Reminiscing is not something I like to do

Because we seem to focus on what we couldn’t do

To me, reflecting becomes a huge pile of regret

One that may not be easy to forgive and forget

When I am old and ready to die

I will probably want to learn to fly

To soar between the clouds and spread my arms

To watch the world go about, spreading their charms

I want to put on that flight suit and take the leap

I want to experience the rush and with joy I want to weep

When I am old and ready to die

I am going to enjoy a dish of French fry

I am going to lick all the ice creams

And eat every possible pizza of my dreams

I am going to relish all types of juices and shakes

And everything vegetarian every person makes

When I am old and ready to die

I am going to embrace death, I am sly

I am going to welcome my end with a cheer

And really enjoy the time with my family without a tear

I am going to prepare myself to say goodbye

When I am old and ready to die!
